How do we make the economy easy to understand?

Reporting the facts and figures is only half the job in an Annual Report for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand we also want to educate and help the public grasp how the economy works. To help with this we layered illustrations through the report that showcase moments we can all relate to — ‘how’ the economy works, from the payments system (cash and card - getting your daily coffee fix and what it costs) to farming and industry….

We story boarded a small scene to represent each area of the economy. Illustrations were also used in educational class room activities for highschoolers to aid in explaining the economy and how it operates.
