During the easter school holidays Space Place wanted to draw kids attention to the night skies as part of ongoing campaign activity for the year.
The Cable Car was running a fun treasure hunt during easter and on the treasure hunt Space Place was a stop off. Space Place had badge-making and other activities on the go, but wanted to draw kids attention to what Space Place is really about… learning all about what’s up in our night skies.
As luck would have it there is a rabbit constellation! The map in the Space Place library shows where it can be found so what better way to loop the kids in to the learning than by asking them in their clues… what constellation is on the poster at Space Place? In they ran - tearing around looking for a constellation poster….
We also ran html5 ads with the Met Service.
These ads were linked through to our what’s on page, to come and see us during the school hols, and also alerted people to the treasure hunt on at the Cable Car.
The nifty thing about the met service programming is the ads ran next to the weather forecast and were able to be swapped out depending on the weather so we ran one set with ‘clear skies text’ and one set with ‘cloudy skies text’.
The great thing is Space Place has the planetarium, so whilst the actual bunny constellation is in the sky during March, you can see it in the planetarium if it’s cloudy or raining… so a great excuse to visit the planetarium!
