A new way of working with students hiring grad gear

www.gradgear.co.nz

Project: Name, Brand and Website design.

This e-commerce site was designed for GradGear (Academic Dress Wellington), for the online management of the hiring/buying of Academic Dress for graduation.

The process had been successfully managed with paper and people for many years, but the team knew all the knowledge was in 3 heads, and they needed an ongoing sustainable strategy for the team. They also wanted to take advantage of empowering people to shop and book themselves online.

This website involved design of both the front end, and design of back end CMS, (for stock management, reporting, receipts, notifications, payments etc).

I designed the back end system based from a start point, with 72dpi in Auckland, fleshing out an e-commerce system they had made, and customising this for the unique process we required to streamline a very manual garment booking, and hire system.

I managed the client, developers, and our team from start to finish, as well as designing.

My role —

  • Design of brand and website.

  • Project management of the website design, build and delivery in collaboration with our developers on this project 72dpi.

Collaborators: Matt Innes and 72dpi.
